Sydney Counterfeit Offender Looses Appeal
The offender involved in Australia largest raid has received a custodial sentence. The sentence is weekend detention for 12 months and good behavior bond, along with a substantial fine. The original sentence was upheld on appeal at Sydney District Court yesterday. An order was also made forfeiting the property to NSWP under the Proceeds of Crime Act. The seized property will be destroyed by he NSW Police and the Customs Service.

Gold Coast Counterfeits Seized
A raid was conducted by the Queensland Police on the Gold Coast involving the Carara Markets and three other retail outlets. Certain stalls within the market were trading in counterfeit Nike, Adidas, Polo Ralph Lauren, Guess and Lonsdale merchandise. Some of these stalls had links to retail outlets within the Gold Coast that were also raided and the counterfeit items seized. This matter is now before the courts, the outcome will be part of ‘our news’ in the near future.
